Upper Chichester – Edward T. Coleman, Chief Executive Officer, announced that the Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) recently received a $1,000 donation from Giant Food Stores.  The donation will support CAADC’s Daily Feeding Program at its Life Center of Eastern Delaware County.  The Life Center shelter, located in Upper Darby, has partnered with the Community Outreach Project to provide this meal program.  The Community Outreach Project is a unique community group that includes churches, synagogues, mosques and other community groups that volunteer to prepare and provide a meal to homeless individuals and other needy families from the community every evening of the year.  Last year over 50,000 meals were provided.  The donation from Giant Food Stores will help to provide meals on nights when volunteer groups are unavailable.  Mr. Coleman stated, “We really appreciate the support of Giant Food Stores and its commitment to alleviate hunger issues in Delaware County.  Giant helps us in many ways throughout the year and are a true caring part of our community.”  Groups or individuals can e-mail copmeals@gmail.com if they are interested in helping with the meal program.
