Boothwyn, PA – Help is available in Delaware County for Veterans facing a housing crisis.  Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) and the Salvation Army (SA) continue to partner for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program.  The goal of the SSVF Program is to provide supportive services to low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing.  The program provides eligible Veteran families with outreach, case management, and assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits.  In addition, the program may also provide time-limited payments to third parties (e.g. landlords, utility companies, etc.) if these payments help Veteran families stay in or acquire permanent housing on a sustainable basis.

Since the SSVF program began CAADC and the SA have enrolled over 400 Veteran families, provided financial assistance to over 300 families and 255 families have successfully exited to stable housing.

Income eligibility guidelines do apply.  Veterans needing assistance can call CAADC at (610) 874-8451.

This program is funded by a grant from the United States Department of Veteran Affairs.  The opinions, findings, and conclusions stated herein are those of CAADC and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of Veteran Affairs.
