How You Can Help

Why We Need Your Help

Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit corporation which relies on the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations, faith-based groups, schools and civic associations in order to serve those in need in Delaware County. While we do receive government funding, we would not be able to provide all the support we do for the vulnerable residents of Delaware County without significant community support. Contributions can be financial or in the form of donated (“in-kind”) goods or services. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

We really appreciate and thank you for your support of Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc.

CAADC helps over 1,000 children annually from our emergency shelters, transitional/rapid re-housing programs and from economically disadvantaged families with gifts during the holidays. You can help bring a smile to a child’s face by helping us with this important effort.
If you would like to “adopt” a child or family, donate new, unwrapped toys/gifts or make a financial contribution please contact Danita Miller at (610) 874-8451 or by e-mail at dmiller@caadc.org.

If you would like to have a toy collection barrel at your place of business please contact CAADC at (610) 833-4442 or by e-mail at info@caadc.org.

Collect and Donate Personal Care, Baby Supplies and Other Items

Our shelters and clients are always in need of personal care items, baby supplies, household supplies etc. Your church, school or civic group can host a collection of one or more of these items which will help to support for our shelters. Click here for a list of needed items.

Food Assistance/Donations

Helping to have sufficient and healthy food for our clients and needy residents is an important service that CAADC provides. You can support this effort in a variety of ways including:

Do a collection of food (non-perishable items) and donate to CAADC. We operate food cupboards at all of our shelters and at our Direct Service office.

Prepare and serve food at our Daily Feeding Program at the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County in Upper Darby. We partner with the Community Outreach Project to provide a meal at the Life Center to the shelter residents, clients from other homeless programs and to needy residents every night at 7:00 p.m. (approximately 150-200 persons daily). The Community Outreach Project is a community and faith-based effort (including churches, synagogues and mosques) that 365 days a year provide a hot and nutritious dinner. The program is fully funded by donations of food and time from the community. If you are interested in participating please e-mail gruggieri@caadc.org.

Support our efforts at Thanksgiving to help assure that families have food during the holiday. Food collections and monetary donations help to keep this a special time for some of our most needy residents. We annually provide 150-200 turkeys and all the fixings to local households. The Life Center Feeding Program provides over 300 dinners to homeless and economically disadvantaged residents on Thanksgiving Day.
