Upper Chichester – Edward T. Coleman, Chief Executive Officer, announced that the Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) recently received a $10,000 grant from The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust.  CAADC will utilize this support to assist homeless families to transition to permanent housing by providing furniture assistance.  Support for this vulnerable population is even more crucial right now during the COVID-19 Pandemic as many families struggle to stabilize their housing situations.  Mr. Coleman stated, “During these difficult times, CAADC would not be able to help our clients with all we do without community support like this generous donation from The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust.  We really appreciate the assistance and will be able to use it to help homeless families from our community.”

The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust is a private foundation established by William Wikoff Smith in 1977 to make grants in the Greater Philadelphia region to support basic needs, higher education scholarships, maritime education, and medical research primarily for Heart Disease, Cancer and AIDS.
