Upper Chichester – Edward T. Coleman, Chief Executive Officer, announced that the Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC) recently received a $10,000 grant from The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust.  CAADC will utilize this support to assist homeless families to transition to permanent housing by providing furniture assistance.  This is the second year in a row that The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust has supported this project and was especially crucial during the COVID-19 Pandemic in helping some of our most vulnerable residents.  Mr. Coleman stated, “As we help homeless families to go from shelter to their own housing, this assistance is making sure they can do it in a safe and healthy environment.  We really appreciate the assistance from The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust for families in Delaware County.”

The W. W. Smith Charitable Trust is a private foundation established by William Wikoff Smith in 1977 to make grants in the Greater Philadelphia region to support basic needs, higher education scholarships, maritime education, and medical research primarily for Heart Disease, Cancer and AIDS.
