Upper Chichester – VSP Vision was at the Life Center of Eastern Delaware County on June 4th and June 5th. The Life Center of Eastern Delaware County, a program of Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Inc. (CAADC), is a homeless shelter located in Upper Darby for single men and women from Delaware County. As part of their VSP Eyes of Hope project, they came to the homeless shelter and offered free eye exams and free eyeglasses to shelter clients and to the local community. This is part of VSP Vision’s effort to support increased access to vision care for adults and children in need. They saw 120 people over the two days.
Edward T. Coleman, Chief Executive Officer of CAADC, stated “We really appreciate this amazing effort by VSP Vision. It shows they truly care about the communities in which they operate.”
The Life Center of Eastern Delaware County provides assistance to over 200 homeless individuals per year. To date, VSP Eyes of Hope has provided access to no-cost vision care for more than 4.5 million people in need.
